I’ve finished another thread colour on Rose Fairy. DMC 987, it was a pleasure working with you. There are now only ten more DMC stranded cottons left, and the Kreinik of course. Then I can move on to finding and applying the beads. I’m very excited to bead the piece, as that will be the final step before framing. I can’t wait to see the sparkle!
In other news, I have made a small start on Joan Elliott’s Summer Fairy. I wanted to play around with my new Q-Snap frame, and it looks like it will be a good match for my stitching style, although I do love my scroll frames very much.
Oh, and before I go, my very good friend Joan sent me a gift certificate to Joan Elliott’s online chart store for my birthday last month. After much careful consideration and asking hubby his opinion, I purchased two designs; The Maiden and the Dragon, and Rose Goddess.
The Maiden and the Dragon looks Welsh to me, with the red dragon, the hawk, and the daffodils. I can’t wait to get started on her, she’s going to be another huge undertaking.
Rose Goddess, although she sounds similar to Rose Fairy, is actually quite different. She is a companion piece to Joan’s Green Goddess, whom was featured in The Ultimate Joan Elliott Collection (my most prized cross stitch treasure). Joan Elliott has done several other Goddess, and one day I would love to stitch them all as a set. There are the four seasons, and Mother Moon and her companion Father Sun.
Until next time,
