The Ultimate Joan Elliott Collection, and The Reader

I thought I'd mix things up and work on something different for a change. This is another Joan Elliott design (she's my favourite designer, can you tell?) called The Reader.

This chart was featured in The Ultimate Joan Elliott Collection, a truly wonderful bookazine by the creators of the now sadly discontinued Cross Stitch Collection magazine. This bookazine is out of print now, but if you're lucky you can pick up a copy on eBay. Here it is below.

As you can, The Reader is featured in the top left corner, she's one of three medieval lady designs. There are also four seasonal fairies, two elemental goddesses, the beautiful Green Goddess, a heap of beautiful Christmas angels and other designs. It is worth it if you can find a copy.

And now on to my progress of The Reader. Ta da!

As you can see, I'm all over the place with her. I love working with the sparkly metallic gold thread by DMC. I'm trying to decide if I'll keep her original blonde hair or change it to brunette, like my own.

I haven't done as much stitching as I'd like to lately, because (big announcement time!) I'm pregnant! And morning sickness is a lie that lasts all day and much of the night. Hubby and I are very happy and excited. Hopefully the nausea will soon fade away so I can get on with the things I want to do, like stitch and shop for baby goods! If anyone has any cute baby stitches you'd like to share with me, please do, I'm always looking for cute new things to stitch.

Until next time,

Happy Stitching!
